Who will be the leading rusher in SB50?
Will running back Jonathan Stewart lead all players in rushing yards this Sunday when the Panthers take on the Broncos in Super Bowl 50?
At least according to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the answer to that question is yes. Stewart is a +120 favorite to be the leading rusher in Super Bowl 50. Denver’s C.J. Anderson has comparable odds at +130, while Carolina quarterback Cam Newton is 5/1 to accomplish the feat. Ronnie Hillman is also 7/1, while Mike Tolbert has the longest odds at 50/1.
Stewart rushed for 989 yards on 242 carries this season for the Panthers, averaging 4.1 yards per carry and scoring six touchdowns with three fumbles. Although Newton cuts into his yardage totals, Stewart is the primary back for Carolina, which makes him the obvious candidate to be the leading rusher in Super Bowl 50.
As for Anderson, he rushed for 72 yards on 16 carries in the Broncos’ win over the Patriots in the AFC title game. Hillman finished with only 16 yards on 11 carries so it’s feasible that Anderson will once again get the bulk of the carries for Denver in Super Bowl 50.
