Panthers to stop Ryan again?
The Atlanta Falcons can spoil the perfect season for the Carolina Panthers when they meet up today, but Matt Ryan will need to be on his game.
According to oddsmakers at MyBookie.ag, Carolina is the favorite on the road today, as the Panthers are getting odds of -6.5 points against the Falcons. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 47.5 points. These two meet today at 1PM ET on FOX.
The Panthers (14-0, 10-4 ATS) can lock up the top seed in the NFC with a win today as they meet the Falcons (7-7, 5-9 ATS), who are holding onto slim playoff hopes, but need a victory to stay in the mix. These two met just two weeks ago in Carolina, with the Panthers picking up a dominant 38-0 win. Carolina outgained the Falcons 424-230 in total yards. Ryan went just 22 of 34 passing in the loss for 224 yards with one interception.
In today’s rematch in Atlanta, oddsmakers have listed his over/under for passing yards at 280.5, while his over/under for TDs+INTs in the game is at 2.5. Ryan has thrown for 3,951 yards and 18 touchdowns this season, but has 15 interceptions as well. He also has eight fumbles, as he is having his worst season since 2009. Ryan has thrown for at least 281 yards in six games, but hasn’t done it since Nov. 8. He has totaled 3 TDs+INTs in just five games. The Panthers have been stingy against opposing QBs, allowing the fourth-fewest fantasy points to them in 2015. They have 22 INTs this season compared to just 20 TD passes. They have held opposing QBs to under 281 yards in 10 of 14 games this year.
