Will the Broncos shut down A.J. Green and the Bengals tonight on ESPN?

Broncos to lock up Green?

A.J. Green may seem unstoppable at times, but the Denver Broncos have stopped plenty of receivers this year. Can the Cincinnati Bengals count on him tonight?

View NFL Odds

According to oddsmakers at MyBookie.ag, the Broncos are favored at home in tonight’s game, as they are getting odds of -4 points against the Bengals. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 40 points. These two meet tonight at 8:30PM ET on ESPN.

Green has been one of the top receivers in the NFL for a few years now. He has been over 1,000 yards in each of his five years in the NFL, including 1,206 yards this season on 77 receptions. He also has eight touchdowns for the Bengals (11-3, 11-2-1 ATS). Despite his impressive numbers, Green is matching up with arguably the top defense in the NFL tonight in the Broncos (10-4, 8-6 ATS). Denver is allowing the fewest yards total (279.9 ypg) and fewest passing yards (200 ypg) in the NFL.

Oddsmakers still think Green should have a reasonable impact in this game, as he has been given an over/under of 74.5 receiving yards and 5.5 receptions against the Broncos. Green has had at least 75 yards in seven games this year and at least 6 catches in six games. However, Denver is allowing the fewest fantasy points to opposing receivers this season by more than 2 points less than the next team. One possible gleam of light is that the Broncos allowed 332 yards to Pittsburgh receivers last week, but the Steelers have Ben Roethlisberger. Cincinnati comes into this game with A.J. McCarron at QB. In last week’s game with McCarron, Green had just one catch for 37 yards against the 49ers.
