Will the Lions, Matthew Stafford light up the Saints’ secondary tonight?

Stafford in for a big night?

The New Orleans Saints have extremely struggled against the pass. Does that mean big things for Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions tonight?

View NFL Odds

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, New Orleans is favored in this game, as the Saints are getting odds of -2.5 points against the Lions. The over/under total for the game has been set at 51 points. These two meet tonight at 8:30PM ET on ESPN.

The Saints (5-8, 6-6-1 ATS) have a tremendous offense that puts up 395 yards per game, but the defense is a hot mess. The Saints allow the most points (30.5 pg) and third-most passing yards (278.8 pg) in the NFL. From a fantasy perspective, the Saints give up the most points to opposing QBs in the NFL. The Saints average 23.3 points allowed while the next closest team gives up just 19.3.

Even though the Lions (4-9, 4-9 ATS) have struggled, they could do good things tonight against the Saints. Detroit has the ninth-ranked pass attack behind Stafford, who has thrown for 3,409 yards and 24 touchdowns to go along with 13 interceptions. For today’s game, Stafford has been given an over/under of 292.5 passing yards and 2 touchdown passes. Stafford has thrown for at least 293 yards in just two games this season, but the Saints have allowed 293 passing yards in nine games this season. They have given up multiple TD passes in 10 games this year while Stafford has multiple TD passes in eight games this year. He has thrown for nine touchdowns over his last three games.
