Without Brady, Patriots remain 3-point favorites over Steelers for Week 1

Pats still 3-point favorites vs. Steelers

FOXBORO, MA (The Spread) – The Patriots remain favored over the Steelers for Week 1 of the 2015 NFL season despite Tom Brady’s suspension being upheld this week.

Oddsmakers from the MGM Mirage in Las Vegas list New England as a 3-point favorite over Pittsburgh for opening night of the 2015 NFL season. The Patriots opened as 6.5-point favorites but once Brady was suspended for his role in “Deflategate,” the line dropped to either 3.5 or 3 at most books. The lowest the line is in Vegas is New England -1.5.

The total has also been affected for that game after opening at 55. With Brady out and Jimmy Garoppolo set to start, the over/under has dropped to between 49.5 and 48.5, depending on the Vegas sports book.

Brady’s four-game suspension was upheld by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell earlier this week. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Patriots are 12/1 to win the 2016 Super Bowl.
