LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -The Chicago Bears signed cornerback Ade Jimoh and cut punter Dirk Johnson on Wednesday, the fourth time they’ve shuffled the two players this month.
The Bears initially signed Jimoh on Sept. 11, then cut him before the Kansas City game on Sept. 16, signed him again on Sept. 19 and released him two days later. He had 65 special teams tackles and 28 on defense over four seasons with the Washington Redskins.
Johnson was signed before the Kansas City game because Brad Maynard was out with a groin injury and averaged 49.8 yards on four punts. He was cut on Sept. 19 and re-signed on Sept. 21. He was inactive last week against Dallas.
