SAN DIEGO (AP) The Chargers got some good news regarding their tight end position: Ladarius Green practiced on Friday.
While Green went through a light practice session, he has yet to be cleared for contact and he remains questionable for Sunday’s opener against the visiting Detroit Lions.
Green was idle on Thursday after suffering a concussion during Wednesday’s workout.
San Diego was already going to be without Pro Bowl tight end Antonio Gates for the opener, which was going to lead to a bigger role for Green. Gates will be serving a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance-enhancing drugs.
Green, a fourth-year pro, started four games last season. He finished with a career-high 19 receptions for 226 yards.
