ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) -The Oakland Raiders released defensive end Lance Johnstone and offensive lineman Brad Badger, and signed defensive tackle Josh Shaw and defensive back Kris Richard.
The moves were all made late last week but not announced by the team until Wednesday.
Johnstone, a second-round pick by Oakland in 1996, spent the first five seasons of his career with the Raiders before moving to Minnesota. He rejoined Oakland last season and had two sacks in 11 games, mostly as a third-down specialist.
Badger spent the past five seasons with the Raiders, starting 31 games between 2003-05. He saw little action last season, mostly playing on special teams or in a reserve role.
Shaw last played in 2004 with Miami. He was cut by the Dolphins before the start of last season. Richard last played with San Francisco in 2005. He was cut by the 49ers last September.
Oakland also waived receiver Leo Bookman on Wednesday.
