SAN ANTONIO (AP) -A look at Dallas Cowboys receiver Terrell Owens’ day in training camp Friday:
RIGHT AWAY: The first play during team drills was a pass to Owens in the left flat. But No. 81 juggled the ball and couldn’t make the catch with cornerback Anthony Henry right on top of him. A few plays later, Owens made a nice grab over the middle in traffic.
GOING DEEP: With the ball in the air and T.O. streaking down the left sideline, fans already started to react in anticipation of a deep catch. But Owens was flanked by two defenders and Tony Romo’s pass was out of bounds.
NOT ONLY WHITE SHOES: While everybody else except backup quarterback Brad Johnson was in shorts, Owens stood out with his white compression-style pants that covered his entire legs. Johnson wore dark blue warmup pants, the same color as most players’ shorts.
T.O. THE TEACHER: When Sam Hurd came to camp last year as an undrafted rookie, he got a lot of tutoring from Owens. That hasn’t changed, with Owens still offering plenty of advice. “He’s like a philosopher,” Hurd said. “He comes in so many ways and puts it in perspective that you can understand it.”
