MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -The Minnesota Vikings signed former University of Minnesota receiver Paris Hamilton on Wednesday.
Hamilton was on the Detroit Lions practice squad in 2005 and was in Lions camp during the preseason last year.
He was a highly touted recruit when he came to the Gophers out of Tyler Junior College in 2003, but he blew out his left knee and missed all of his junior season. He had just four catches for 198 yards and two touchdowns in his senior season in 2004.
Hamilton essentially replaces veteran receiver Randy Hymes, who was cut on Tuesday.
