The Colorado Avalanche are currently favored to repeat as NHL Stanley Cup champions but what other teams have comparable odds after a flurry of offseason moves occurred last week in the NHL?

According to oddsmakers from FanDuel Sportsbook, the Avalanche are the current favorites to win the Stanley Cup at +500, followed by the Hurricanes and Maple Leafs at +1000, respectively. The Lightning have represented the Eastern Conference in the Stanley Cup three straight years and are +1200 to win it all next season, while the Panthers are +1300, the Golden Knights are +1400 and the Oilers and Rangers are +1600, respectively.
The Penguins and Wild, meanwhile, are +1800 to win the Stanley Cup next season, respectively, while the Flames are +2000. The Blues and Bruins, meanwhile, are +2500, respectively, while the Islanders are +3000 and the Kings and Capitals are +3500, respectively. The Canucks, Predators and Stars are all +4500, respectively, followed by the Jets at +5000. The new-look Red Wings also have the same odds as the Senators at +5500.
Biggest Offseason Moves (thus far)
Johnny Gaudreau signed a seven-year contract with the Blue Jackets in a shocking move by both sides. Gaudreau reportedly wanted to play close to his hometown Devils or Flyers, but Columbus landed “Johnny Hockey” with a massive deal.
The Hurricanes also made headlines with their acquisition of Max Pacioretty from the Golden Knights. All they had to give up to acquire Pacioretty and Dylan Coghlan was future considerations because Vegas wanted to dump Pacioretty’s $7 million cap hit. Carolina also acquired Brent Burns from the Sharks as they attempt to make another run next season.
The Red Wings were another team that have made some interesting moves to start free agency, signing Ben Chiarot to a four-year, $19 million contract, Andrew Copp to a five-year, $28.12 million deal and David Perron to a two-year deal with an AAV of $4.75 million. Detroit also acquired goaltender Ville Husso from the Blues in exchange for a draft pick, then signed the netminder to a three-year contract.
