Coyotes double up Blue Jackets
Arizona downed host Columbus by a count of 4-2 Tuesday night to improve to 16-9-4 on the season. Clayton Keller put the Coyotes ahead 1-0 with 49 seconds remaining in the first period on the power play with assists going to Christian Dvorak and Phil Kessel. After the Blue Jackets tied it up early in the second, Arizona went back ahead midway through the second on a Christian Fischer goal assisted by Carl Soderberg and Jason Demens. Lawson Crouse pushed it to 3-1 at the 3:21 mark of the second off assists from Soderberg and Alex Goligoski. Columbus pulled within 3-2 early in the third period before the Coyotes made it a 4-2 game with 35 seconds left on an unassisted Soderberg empty net goal. Darcy Kuemper picked up the win as he allowed two goals on 35 shots.
Flyers blast Maple Leafs
Philadelphia rolled to a 6-1 victory at home Tuesday night over Toronto to improve to 16-7-5 on the season. AFter a scoreless first period, Scott Laughton put the Flyers ahead 1-0 with 11:11 left in the second period on a goal assisted by Kevin Hayes and Matt Niskanen. The Maple Leafs tied it up in the third period, but Philadelphia took a 2-1 lead agin with 10 minutes left on a goal by Claude Giroux with assists courtesy of Travis Konecny and Philippe Myers. Konecny made it 3-1 with 3:28 remaining with an assist from Myers. Joel Farabee pushed the lead to three goals a minute-plus later off an assist from Ivan Provorov. Shayne Gostisbehere extended it to 5-1 with 39 seconds remaining on a goal assisted by Travis Sanheim. James van Riemsdyk finished the scoring 12 seconds later on asissts by Myers and Gostisbehere. Carter Hart earned the win as he gave up one goal on 28 shots.

The Flyers are one of the hottest teams in the NHL right now and after staying at home the last couple days while facing an Arizona squad on a road trip, I like the better-rested team here. Hart has rounded into form lately and as Tuesday night showed, he’s getting plenty of support in front of him. I’m not going to fade the Flyers right now.
