Darcy Kuemper will start on Sunday night in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final against Tampa Bay. Kuemper is coming off a 26-save effort in Friday’s 3-2 loss to the Lightning in Game 5. “He’s gotten us to this point,” coach Jared Bednar said Saturday. “We’re in the Stanley Cup Final, we have a 3-2 series lead. You saw what he could do in the second game in Tampa.” The Avalanche bench boss added that their “confidence level with Darcy is high. It has been all year and hasn’t really changed.” Kuemper has a 9-4 record this postseason with a 2.68 GAA and .898 SV% in 15 appearances.
Tampa Bay Lightning DFS Spin
Andrei Vasilevskiy turned aside 35 shots in a 3-2 win over Colorado in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final on Friday. The Avalanche came back from two one-goal deficits in the contest, but the Lightning got the victory thanks to a late third-period goal by Ondrej Palat. The play of Vasilevskiy was also a big part of Tampa Bay’s victory. He has a 4-0 record with a 1.75 GAA and .945 SV% when facing elimination in the Stanley Cup Playoffs since 2020. Vasilevskiy will look to continue that success in Game 6 on Sunday.
