Colorado Avalanche Fantasy Spin
Philipp Grubauer allowed one goal on 32 shots in Saturday’s 2-1 road win against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Grubauer improved to 17-11-4 with a 2.72 goals-against average and .912 save percentage across his 33 appearances. He has been strong lately, allowing exactly one goal in each of his past three starts, all wins. Grubauer has lost just twice in regulation over the past 10 starts, too. The Avalanche will welcome the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday evening.
Minnesota Wild Fantasy Spin
Devan Dubnyk allowed two goals on 33 shots in Friday’s 3-2 road victory against the Dallas Stars. Dubnyk has struggled with a 10-13-2 record, 3.34 goals-against average and .892 save percentage across his 26 appearances, which isn’t great. He has actually been better away from home lately, winning three of his past four away from the Twin Cities. The Wild are back in action Sunday at home against the Colorado Avalanche. Dubnyk beat the Avs in Denver back on Dec. 27, allowing four goals while making a season-high 40 saves.
Our Prediction
I know the Aves are hot, but they’ve had a hell of a time winning in Minnesota over the years. Colorado is just 4-12 in its last 16 road games versus the Wild, while the underdog is also 7-3 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams. The Avalanche are also just 5-13 in their last 18 games when playing the third contest of a 3-in-4 situation and are 2-5 in their last seven games versus Central opponents. On the other side, the Wild are a perfect 5-0 in their last five matchups with Central foes, are 4-1 in their last five games overall and are 5-2 in their last seven home games.
