Blues vs. Sharks Saturday Prediction
The late night action in the NHL takes hockey fans to San Jose where the Sharks will host the Blues at 10:30 p.m. ET. Will the struggling Blues snap out of their current funk or is there a better play on the board tonight?

Jordan Binnington allowed two goals on 20 shots in Wednesday’s 2-1 home loss against the Los Angeles Kings. Binnington exchanged donuts with Cal Petersen in the first period before coughing up two goals to Alex Iafallo and Andreas Athanasiou in the second. Oskar Sundqvist scored with an extra attacker late in the third to make things interesting, but that’s as close as the Blues could get. Binnington slipped to 8-6-2 with a 2.49 goals-against average and .914 save percentage in his 16 starts this season. The Blues are off until Saturday in San Jose.

Erik Karlsson (lower body) participated in a full practice on Friday. Karlsson was unable to finish practice last week and he felt better than expected on Friday. That’s very encouraging and he will continue to be monitored, but he could be available to return sooner than originally thought.
Blues vs. Sharks Prediction
The Blues are 7-2 in their last nine games against the Sharks but have dropped four of their last five games overall as injuries continue to mount. They’re also just 1-4 in their last five games as a favorite and 1-4 in their last five games when facing an opponent with a losing record. On the other side, the Sharks are just 1-5 in their last six home games and 0-4 in their last four games as a home dog.
Thus, I like the total – specifically the under, which is 4-1 in the Blues’ last five games overall and is 5-1 in their last six games when they’re favored. The under is also 7-2 in the Blues’ last nine games as a road favorite and 4-1 in their last five games when facing an opponent with a losing record.
NHL BETTING PREDICTION: BLUES/SHARKS UNDER 5.5
