St. Louis Blues Fantasy Spin
Jordan Binnington stopped all 14 shots he faced in Thursday’s 1-0 win over the Arizona Coyotes. Binnington wasn’t overly busy on Thursday night, as the Coyotes didn’t fire many pucks his way. The Blues goaltender has now posted back-to-back shutouts after going through a four-game losing streak. He has 26-11-7 record with a 2.60 goals-against-average and a .911 save percentage this season. Binnington should be a strong fantasy play between now and the end of the season.
Dallas Stars Fantasy Spin
Ben Bishop allowed two goals on 41 shots in Wednesday’s 3-2 win over the Arizona Coyotes. Bishop starting the game off with an exclamation point, stopping all 21 shots he faced in the opening frame. This will extend the veteran netminder’s winning streak to three games, improving his record to 21-12-4 with a 2.37 goals-against-average and a .925 save percentage.
Our Prediction
The under is 5-0-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams and while the Blues have trended over in their last nine road games (the over is 6-2-1 over that span), they’ve played three straight unders as they’ve rediscovered their defensive identity. Granted, Binnington is unlikely to play having played Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday of this week, but Jake Allen is more than capable of keeping the Stars’ scoring in check. Plus, the under is 36-15-5 in the Stars’ last 56 home games, is 44-19-5 when they’re favored and is 40-17-9 in their last 66 games after allowing two goals or less in their previous contest. Ben Bishop is 0-2-0 against the Blues this season, but he also owns a .928 save percentage of that two-game span.
Friday NHL Prediction: Blues/Stars UNDER 5.5
