The two players had a spirited chat, but nothing more came of the incident. The Blues came out inspired in the third frame and they scored three goals to complete the comeback. Robert Thomas scored the game-winning goal with just 23 seconds in regulation. Binnington now has 15-14-5 record with a 2.69 goals-against-average and a .909 save percentage this season. He’s won three games in a row.

Cam Talbot allowed four goals on 32 shots in Wednesday’s 4-3 loss to the St. Louis Blues. The Wild will be kicking themselves over this loss, as they had a 3-1 lead in the third period. Talbot and Blues goalie Jordan Binnington had a spirited chat at the end of the second period and it seemed to give St. Louis a spark in the third. The Blues managed to score three unanswered goals, including Robert Thomas’ game-winner with 23 seconds remaining in regulation. Talbot’s five-game win streak is officially over. He has a 17-7-3 record with a 2.39 goals-against-average and a .924 save percentage in 2021.
