In the second period, Brad Marchand scored 28 seconds in off an assist by Patrice Bergeron to make it 2-0. Karson Kuhlman added an unassisted goal shortly thereafter, while the Panthers trimmed it back to 4-2 midway through the period. Steven Kampfer scored on the power play with 4:12 remaining in the second on assists by Heinen and John Moore. David Pastrnak completed the second-period scoring less than a minute later off assists by Chara and Jaroslav Halak. Lightning’s seven-game win streak snapped
Tampa Bay lost 4-3 in overtime at St. Louis Saturday night to fall to 58-14-4 on the season. The Lightning had a rough start to the contest as it surrendered three first-period goals to go down 3-0 through 20 minutes. Alex Killorn put Tampa Bay on the board with a shorthanded goal in the first minute of the second off an assist by Anthony Cirelli. Brayden Point scored his 40th goal of the season to cut it to 3-2 with 12:36 left in the second on an assist by Ryan McDonagh. The Blues pushed it back to a 4-2 game later in the second, while Steven Stamkos scored off a J.T. Miller assist with 15:14 remaining in the game but the Lightning were unable to find the equalizer. Andrei Vasilevskiy allowed four goals on 26 shots to take the loss in net.
NHL Betting Trends
Boston
The Bruins are 4-0 in their last four games versus the Eastern Conference. Boston is 19-7 in its last 26 games overall.
Tampa Bay
The Lightning are 7-0 in their last seven Monday games. Tampa Bay is 41-10 in its last 51 games overall.
Prediction:
Boston is playing great hockey, but Tampa Bay rarely loses at home and this is actually a decent price to get it at considering the typical home moneylines. Neither team has a rest advantage, although the Bruins had less travel distance. Even so, it’s hard not to like the Lightning just about every time they step on the ice and this is no exception. If this is an Eastern Conference Finals preview, no one is going to be surprised. Bet on Tampa Bay to take this one.
