Anaheim won its third straight in the series with a 4-3 OT victory at home on Friday. The road team has actually won four of the five games in this series already. Anaheim is now 53-25-13 overall and 21-15-9 on the road while Edmonton is 53-28-12 overall and 27-13-6 at home.
The Ducks had a remarkable comeback in Game 5, as they fell behind 3-0 in the second period to the Oilers. They were still down 3-0 with five minutes to play, but somehow rallied. Ryan Getzlaf scored 16:44 in to the third and Cam Fowler found the net just 35 seconds later. Rickard Rakell force overtime when he scored with 15 seconds left in regulation. The game went to double OT, but Corey Perry gave the Ducks the win. Anaheim continued to dominate the shots on goal, racking up 60 in the win to just 38 for the Oilers.
Anaheim has already won a pair of games in Edmonton and I think the way the Oilers blew Game 5 will come back to haunt them in Game 6 tonight. The Ducks have really been the aggressor in recent games and I expect that to continue. Those extra shots will pay off, as Cam Talbot won’t be able to stand on his head all game. Look for the Ducks to finish things off tonight.
