Jake Allen allowed three goals on 39 shots in Sunday’s 3-2 overtime road loss against the Ottawa Senators. Allen was staked to a 1-0 lead after just 77 seconds, courtesy of Nick Suzuki, but Drake Batherson evened the score midway through the first period. Both Allen and Matt Murray exchanged donuts in the second period, before Josh Norris beat Allen early in the third to restore Ottawa’s one-goal lead. Corey Perry scored late in the third to force overtime, but it was Brady Tkachuk coming up with the heroics in OT to make a loser of Allen. It’s almost a certainty Carey Price will be back in the crease for Tuesday’s rematch in Ottawa.
Ottawa Senators DFS Spin
Matt Murray allowed two goals on 32 shots in Sunday’s 3-2 overtime win against the Montreal Canadiens. Murray coughed up a goal to Nick Suzuki just 77 seconds into the game, and it looked like Murray and the Senators might be in for another long night. But Murray didn’t allow another goal until 14:35 of the third period when Corey Perry leveled the game 2-2. The good news for Murray is that Brady Tkachuk stepped up and notched the winner at 3:35 of OT to give the Senators the second point. These teams are back at it on Tuesday night at Bell Centre.
