T.J. Oshie scored a goal and two assists in Thursday’s 6-4 win over the Buffalo Sabres. Oshie collected two of his three points in the first period. He registered an assist in Nick Backstrom’s tally (1-0) and he added one of his own on the power play before the end of the frame. Oshie also picked up the primary assist on John Carlson’s second-period marker, which made it 3-1 for the Caps. The 34-year-old finished the night with a plus-1 rating, two penalty minutes, three shots on goal and one hit in 19:29 of ice time. Oshie continues to get power play time, penalty kill time and good minutes at even-strength. He’ll be fantasy relevant in 2021.

Sidney Crosby scored as the Penguins drop another game to the Flyers. Crosby looked like he was going to lead the Penguins to a comeback but they never found that tying goal, and the Flyers pulled away for the 5-2 win. Crosby scored just a minute and a half after Ivan Provarov gave the Flyers a three goal lead, and then Brandon Tanev scored to cut the lead to one but the Penguins offence dried up after that. The Penguins are going to have to get their act together quickly as they have a two game set against the Capitals starting Sunday afternoon.
Capitals vs. Penguins Prediction
The Capitals have won 24 of their last 35 games when they face a team with a losing record and are 17-8 in their last 25 games when their opponent allowed five goals or more in their previous contest, as Pittsburgh did on Friday night. The Penguins, meanwhile, are 0-4 in their last four games as a favorite, are 3-7 in their last 10 games when playing on one day of rest and have dropped five of their last six games when their opponent scored two goals or less in its previous contest.
