Hurricanes vs. Islanders Prediction
The Hurricanes will try to add to the Islanders’ recently struggles by pulling off the upset tonight in New York at 7:00PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Islanders are -170 money line favorites versus the Hurricanes, who have odds of +150 to pull off the upset on the road. As for the total, the number currently sits at 5 goals.
Bet Tonight’s Hurricanes vs. Islanders Game
The Islanders have really struggled since Jaroslav Halak suffered a groin injury. He’ll miss at least three more weeks, which is troubling news for a New York team that is just 3-5-2 during Halak’s absence. Thomas Greiss has struggled of late and is expected to start in net for the Islanders tonight. He allowed six goals on 41 shots in Friday’s 7-4 loss to the Lightning.
Cam Ward will start for the Hurricanes after stopping 23 of 25 shots in the Hurricanes’ 3-2 win over the Devils on Sunday. The 32-year-old put an end to his three-game losing streak and is now 21-16-9 on the year with a 2.43 goals-against-average and a .907 save percentage this season.

Carolina has won six of the last seven meetings between these two teams in New York and the road team has also won four of the last five contests. The Islanders are just 2-5 in their last seven games and have dropped five of six when playing on two days of rest. I like the Hurricanes to pull off the upset.
