Chiasson awarded $1.2 mil in arbitration
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – Alex Chiasson was awarded a one-year contract worth $1.2 million in arbitration according to NHL.com.
The Senators offered $1 million to Chiasson and the 24-year-old counted with $2.475 million. He scored nine goals in his first 10 NHL games, including six in seven games late in the 2012-13 season before adding three in his first three the following year.
Chiasson was acquired by Ottawa from the Stars on July 1, 2014 as part of the trade that sent Jason Spezza to Dallas. He had 11 goals and 15 assists in 76 games for Ottawa last season.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Senators are 40/1 to win the 2016 Stanley Cup.
