Blackhawks vs. Flames Prediction
In what should be a high-scoring affair tonight in Calgary, the Flames will host the Blackhawks at 10:00PM ET.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Flames are +120 money line underdogs to beat the visiting Blackhawks, who are -140 favorites. As for the total, the number currently sits at 5.5 goals.
Bet Tonight’s Blackhawks vs. Flames Game
Scott Darling appears to be wearing down. Corey Crawford isn’t even skating yet and while Michael Leighton is likely to draw some starts next week, Darling will be between the pipes again tonight for Chicago. Darling was pulled after allowing four goals on 15 shots in Tuesday’s 6-2 loss to the Stars and is now 7-7-3 with a 2.59 GAA and a .913 save percentage as the Hawks have dropped six of their last seven games.
So take the Flames tonight, right? Not with their 6-15 record over their last 21 games. While Chicago isn’t worth the -140 price tag tonight, neither is Calgary despite catching +120 odds. If the Flames were +150 or higher, then they’d be worth a roll of the dice against a struggling Hawks team. But at +120, that’s not nearly enough to take a flier.

Thus, with both goaltending situations a mess, the over is the best play in tonight’s game. The over is 8-2-7 in the Blackhawks’ last 17 games overall and 7-1-1 in their last nine road games. The over is also 4-1 in the Flames’ last five games following a loss of three or more goals and 8-1 in their last nine when their opponent allows five goals or more in its previous contest.
