Blues beat Jets, back in action on Tuesday
David Backes had a big night for the Blues on Monday while scoring twice and producing an assist in the team’s 3-2 victory against the Jets. St. Louis will be back in action again on Tuesday when it visits Columbus.
Backes was in on both of the Blues’ goals in the first period, which ended with St. Louis carrying a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. He assisted on Vladimir Tarasenko’s 11th goal of the season and then scored a power play goal when Tarasenko returend the favor for his seventh assist of the season. Backes now has five goals on the year after scoring in the third period against the struggling Jets.
The Blues are back in action tonight when they visit the Columbus Blue Jackets at 7:00PM ET. According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Blues are -120 money line favorites to beat the Blue Jackets, who have odds of +100 to pull off the upset. The total currently sits at 5.5 goals.
