New Jersey Devils Fantasy Spin
Cory Schneider allowed just one goal on 28 shots in Tuesday’s 4-1 road win against the Detroit Red Wings. Schneider was making his first start since being recalled from the minors, and he might see more playing time at this rate. He picked up his first victory since March 25 at home against the Buffalo Sabres, moving to 1-6-1 with a 4.21 goals-against average and .864 save percentage through 10 appearances. The win was nice, but he has a ways to go before fantasy owners can trust him again.
San Jose Sharks Fantasy Spin
Aaron Dell coughed up four goals on 27 shots in Tuesday’s 4-2 road loss against the Philadelphia Flyers. Dell tumbled to 12-14-2, dropping his third consecutive start, while his 2.94 goals-against average and .907 save percentage in 31 appearances overall. The Sharks are skidding hard and are far out of the postseason chase. Next up is a battle against the equally disappointing New Jersey Devils back at SAP Center on Thursday.
Our Prediction
The under is 6-2-1 in the last nine meetings between these two teams, is 4-0 in the Devils’ last four games overall and is 8-1 in New Jersey’s last nine games playing on one day of rest. On the other side, the under is 5-2 in the Sharks’ last seven games overall, is 7-1 in their last eight games versus a team with a losing record and is 5-2 in their last seven games after scoring two goals or less in their previous contest.
Thursday NHL Prediction: Devils/Sharks UNDER 6
