Ducks Season Odds
The Anaheim Ducks are expected to make a big push in the Pacific Division this season. Oddsmakers have established the Ducks’ odds to win the 2009 Stanley Cup at 14/1.
Randy Carlyle will have two significant pieces back from his 2007 Stanley Cup team in goalie J.S. Giguere and Scott Niedermayer. But things need to go better offenses so the Ducks not only can compete for the playoffs this year, but also make a run at a Cup.
For the offense to take shape, youngsters Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry must get more help from teammates. The club went out and signed center Brendan Morrison to do just that, but the Ducks also need Chris Kunitz and Teemu Selanne to step up their games as well.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBG Global have listed the Canucks’ odds to win the 2009 Stanley Cup at 30/1. Bodog has Vancouver at 35/1, while Sportsbook.com gives the Canucks a 40/1 shot.
There’s no doubt that the Ducks are contenders again this year. They have an excellent goal tending situation with Gigure in net, as well as one of the best defenses in the division. Carlyle is also a solid coach, but he needs more from his offense, which might be the worst in the Pacific Division. If the role players can step up to help Giguere, Niedermayer, Getzlaf and Perry, this is a Stanley Cup contender.
