Anaheim Ducks Fantasy Spin
John Gibson allowed three goals on 27 shots in Thursday’s 3-2 OT loss to the Montreal Canadiens. Gibson made a couple of big saves in the game, including an impressive one off Joel Armia from in-close in the third period. The Ducks netminder has dropped two of his last three games, but he continues to give his mediocre team a chance to win. The 26-year-old will head into his next game with a 16-21-4 record.
Toronto Maple Leafs Fantasy Spin
The Toronto Maple Leafs acquired Jack Campbell and Kyle Clifford from the Los Angeles Kings for Columbus’ third-round pick in 2020 and a conditional third-rounder in 2021. The Leafs simply couldn’t roll with Michael Hutchinson anymore, as he was costing them valuable points in the standings. Campbell will fill in as the Leafs starter until Frederik Andersen (neck) is ready to return to action. Once Andersen returns, Campbell will serve as the Leafs’ backup. The 28-year-old has an 8-10-2 record with a 2.85 goals-against-average and a .900 save percentage this season. Campbell signed a two-year, $3.3 million extension with the Kings back in September, so he’s signed through the 2021-22 season.
