David Rittich stopped 37 of 39 shots in Wednesday’s 2-1 OT loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Rittich played really well tonight and he was pitching a shutout until William Nylander managed to score with less than 1:30 remaining in regulation to force OT. Nylander beat Rittich again in overtime. The Flames netminder has played really well in back-to-back games against Toronto with Jacob Markstrom on the shelf. He now has a 1-3-1 record with a 2.29 goals-against-average and a .919 save percentage in 2021.
Ottawa Senators DFS Spin
Brady Tkachuk scored a pair of goals in Tuesday’s 5-4 shootout win over the Montreal Canadiens. The Senators have won six games this season and three of them have come against the Canadiens. The 21-year-old was all over the ice and he seemed to be involved in every scrum after the play. Tkachuk’s power-play goal in the first period made it 2-0 for Ottawa, while his second tied the game, 4-4, in the third frame. The Sens power forward also left Canadiens defender Ben Chiarot bloodied after a fight. He finished the night with an even rating, five penalty minutes, four shots on goal and seven hits in 18:26 of ice time. Tkachuk failed to convert on his shootout attempt, but his team still managed to win. He has eight goals and 15 points in 21 games this season.
