Bet Tonight’s Flyers vs. Islanders Game
Philadelphia has been decent on the road this season, posting at 15-14-2 record to match its 34-24-5 record overall. New York has been excellent at home, going 21-8-3 at the Barclays Center and 38-23-4 overall.
The Flyers were dealt a blow yesterday when general manager Ron Hextall announced that goaltender Michal Neuvirth will miss the remaining three weeks of the regular season due to an unspecified lower-body injury. That means starter Steve Mason will have to shoulder the load for a Philadelphia team that is just three points back of Detroit for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
The good news is that the Flyers are hot, winning 8 of their last 11 games overall and going 6-0 in their last six games playing on one day of rest. They’ve also won five of their last six games when their opponent scores two goals or less in their previous game and are 4-1 in their last five contests following a loss of three or more goals.

As for the Islanders, they’ve dropped five of six and haven’t fared well versus the Flyers overall, going just 16-35 in their last 51 meetings with Philly. The Flyers were on an 8-1-1 run before managing a season-low 17 shots in their 4-1 loss to the Penguins on Saturday. Look for them to rebound tonight with an upset victory.
