Carolina Hurricanes DFS SPIN
Frederik Andersen (illness) “should be fine” for Game 3 on Friday, Hurricanes coach Rod Brind’Amour told Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer. Andersen didn’t play Wednesday due to illness, but he was back on the ice for Thursday’s morning skate. It remains to be seen who the starter will be for Friday’s contest, but Antti Raanta is the likely candidate given that he’s won the Hurricanes’ first two contests of the 2023 playoffs. Andersen had a 21-11-1 record, 2.48 GAA and .903 save percentage in 34 regular-season outings.
New York Islanders DFS SPIN
Ilya Sorokin turned aside 32 of 36 shots in a 4-3 overtime loss to Carolina in Game 2 on Wednesday. Sorokin surrendered a goal in each period, including the overtime frame. He’s dropped the first two contests of the playoffs, during which the goaltender has stopped 67 of 73 shots. The Islanders have a solid backup in Semyon Varlamov, but the Islanders will probably stick with Sorokin for Game 3 on Friday. The 27-year-old netminder had a superb 2.34 GAA and .924 save percentage in 62 regular-season appearances.
