Antti Raanta stopped all 21 shots he faced in a 2-0 win against the New York Rangers in Game 2 of the second round on Friday night. Raanta, who earned his first career shutout in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, has stopped 48 of 49 shots through the first two games of the series and Carolina has a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven. The Rangers were not able to generate much, but when they did Raanta was there to make the save.

Rangers coach Gerard Gallant isn’t too concerned about the team being down 2-0 in their series against the Hurricanes. “Honestly, I mean, you’re down two games. You’re in a hole, but it’s been two road games,” Gallant said. “So we just got to make sure we take care of our home ice now. We got to make sure we win tomorrow, one game at a time. And then we’ll worry about game four.” As Gallant mentioned, the Rangers will be hosting Carolina on Sunday. It’s clearly a critical game for the Rangers, but Gallant thinks that playing at home and the crowd will be a big factor in Game 3.
