Alex Ovechkin (lower body) is questionable for Tuesday’s tilt against the New York Islanders. Ovechkin missed Saturday’s game after leaving Thursday’s game a bit early. While coach Peter Laviolette thinks it is a short-term injury, he says that it shouldn’t affect his ability to play in the playoffs. “I don’t think it’s anything long term,” Laviolette said. “I’m not sure if he’ll be there tomorrow, but I don’t think anyone needs to start getting worried about like the playoffs or anything like that” We will take that at face value. Ovechkin has 24 goals and 42 points in 43 games. Reserve him for now.
