New York Islanders DFS Spin
Semyon Varlamov stopped 20 of 21 shots in Monday’s 3-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres. Varlamov was perfect at even-strength, but he gave up a power play goal to Victor Olofsson in the second period when his team was already up 2-0. The 32-year-old has been victorious in four of his last five outings and he’s gone six games without a regulation loss. Varlamov owns a 7-2-2 record with a 1.90 goals-against-average and a .931 save percentage this season. The Russian netminder will continue to be a solid fantasy play whenever he’s between the pipes.
Buffalo Sabres DFS Spin
Linus Ullmark allowed three goals on 29 shots in Monday’s 3-1 loss to the New York Islanders. Ullmark gave up two goals in the first period and the Sabres were never able to recover. This loss wasn’t just on the goaltender, but he could be a lot better for his team, too. The 27-year-old has a 3-2-2 record with a 2.63 goals-against-average and a .912 save percentage this season. It looks like the Sabres will continue to roll with Ullmark as their starting goaltender this year.
Islanders vs. Rangers Prediction
The under is 5-1 in the last six meetings between these two teams and is 4-0 in the last four meetings in Buffalo after cashing again last night in the Islanders’ 3-1 victory. The under is also 11-5-1 in the Islanders’ last 17 games overall, is 9-2 in their last 11 road games and is 5-1 in their last six games as a road favorite. On the other side, the under is 4-1-1 in the Sabres’ last six games as a home underdog and has cashed in 12 of their last 17 games when playing the second game of a back-to-back.
NHL BETTING PREDICTION: ISLANDERS/SABRES UNDER 5.5
