Winnipeg Jets DFS Spin
Connor Hellebuyck allowed two goals on 26 shots in Wednesday’s 3-1 home loss against the Edmonton Oilers. Hellebuyck allowed two power-play goals to Tyson Barrie and Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, and that was it. The third Edmonton goal was an empty-net goal from Leon Draisaitl. The offense was only able to muster up a Blake Wheeler even-strength goal at 4:29 of the second period for support. Hellebuyck and the Jets will look to bounce back Friday night in Montreal.
Montreal Canadiens DFS Spin
Jake Allen allowed four goals on 29 shots in Wednesday’s 4-1 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. Allen made a mistake behind his own net and it resulted in Adam Brooks scoring the Leafs’ fourth goal of the night. Despite that error, the Canadiens goaltender still played a pretty solid game. He did his best to keep his team in the game when they were down by a couple of goals, but it looked like his teammates had a lack of energy. The 30-year-old has a 9-10-4 record with a 2.56 goals-against-average and a .911 save percentage this season. It looks like the Habs will back in to the playoffs, but this doesn’t look like a team that’s poised to make a long run.
Jets vs. Canadiens Prediction
The Jets are 7-2 in their last nine meetings with the Canadiens are 4-1 in their last five games in Montreal. The road team has also won 11 of the last 16 meetings between these two teams while the underdog has cashed in seven of the previous nine meetings.
