Winnipeg Jets DFS Spin
Connor Hellebuyck will be between the pipes on Sunday night against Vancouver. Hellebuyck got Friday’s game off when Laurent Brossoit posted a 29-save shutout win over the Canucks. Hellebuck has a 7-5-1 record this season with a 2.61 goals-against average and .916 save percentage.
Vancouver Canucks DFS Spin
Thatcher Demko allowed just one goal in Friday’s 2-0 loss to the Winnipeg Jets. Demko was definitely Vancouver’s best player in this matchup, despite coming out of the game with a loss. He put up a solid performance throughout the entire night and was the only reason that the Canucks had a fighting chance until the very end. The one goal he allowed came on a breakaway that was the result of a poor defensive effort by Vancouver. He still managed to make an impressive 29 saves on 30 shots and finished the game with a .967 save percentage. This was one of Demko’s best performances of the year so far and is just what he needed to showcase his abilities, especially with the alternating netminder situation in Vancouver.
Jets vs. Canucks Prediction
The Jets are 5-0 in their last five trips to Vancouver and are 16-5 in their last 21 games versus the Canucks overall. They’re also 7-3 in their last 10 games playing on one day of rest and are 11-5 in their last 16 games when taking on a team with a losing record. On the other side, the Canucks are just 2-8 in their last 10 games, are 2-6 in their last eight games playing on one day of rest and are 1-4 in their last five games when their opponent allowed two goals or less in its previous contest.
