Winnipeg Jets DFS Spin
Blake Wheeler scored the game-winning goal in Monday’s 4-0 road win against the Vancouver Canucks. Wheeler nearly had a second goal, but he was robbed by Thatcher Demko. The captain notched his 33rd game-winning goal in a Jets sweater, breaking a tie with Bryan Little (32) for the second most in Atlanta Thrashers/Winnipeg Jets franchise history. He is now only behind Ilya Kovalchuk, who recorded 40 game-winning goals with Atlanta from 2001-10. He’ll look to do it again Wednesday in the rematch in Vancouver.
Vancouver Canucks DFS Spin
Thatcher Demko allowed four goals on 29 shots in Monday’s 4-0 home loss to the Winnipeg Jets. Demko slipped behind 1-0 when captain Blake Wheeler beat him at 9:41 of the first period, but then he righted the ship, including an absolute thievery of Wheeler to prevent a second goal. It was quiet until the third period, which is when Demko went off the rails a bit. He allowed two goals to Adam Lowry, and Paul Stastny added one for good measure, while Vancouver’s offense never came alive. The teams play again Wednesday in B.C.
Panthers vs. Red Wings NHL Prediction
The Jets are a perfect 7-0 in their last seven meetings in Vancouver and 19-7 in their last 26 games versus the Canucks overall. The road team has also won five of the last six meetings between these two teams, while the favorite is 21-7 in their last 26 meetings.
