He coughed up three goals on nine shots in relief. He slipped to 11-7-1 with a 2.73 goals-against average and .911 save percentage across his 19 starts. He’ll look to bounce back Tuesday night in the front end of a two-game set in Toronto.

Coach Sheldon Keefe believes that Auston Matthews’ hand/wrist injury is still impacting the Toronto forward’s shot. Keefe said Monday that Matthew is “dealing with the mental effect of not being 100% himself…[when missing time] you lose your rhythm a little bit. But he’s found ways to generate chances and shots.” He has played in three games after missing two matches and he hasn’t earned a point despite having 15 shots on goal. Matthews believes it’s slowing coming back and he wants to continue to progress this week prior to the team’s upcoming break.
