Kings Season Odds
Not much is expected of the Los Angeles Kings this year, but can they surprise? Oddsmakers have established the Kings’ odds to win the 2009 Stanley Cup at 150/1.
The Kings have one of the youngsters rosters in the NHL, so their odds of winning the Cup this year remain a long shot. But they have a ton of up and coming players, led by 21-year old Jack Johnson and top prospect Drew Doughty (18).
Los Angeles hopes goalie Jason LaBarbera bounces back quickly from sports hernia surgery and that Erik Ersberg can overachieve.

Oddsmakers from online sports book SBG Global have listed the Kings’ odds to win the 2009 Stanley Cup at 75/1. Bodog has Los Angeles at 150/1, while Sportsbook.com gives the Kingss a 100/1 shot.
The fact of the matter is that this Kings team is young and will need time to develop. There’s a couple of qualities to like about them this year, especially Jack Johnson, but it remains to be seen if he will develop. This team tied an NHL record by using seven different goal tenders last year, which isn’t a good thing considering they led the league in goals surrendered at 266. This could be an emerging team to keep an eye on, but it’s going to take some time before all of the young talent develops.
