Los Angeles Kings DFS Spin
Cal Petersen allowed just one goal on 36 shots in Wednesday’s 2-1 road win against the St. Louis Blues. Petersen was staked to a 2-0 lead after two periods, and the only goal he allowed was an even-strength goal to Oskar Sundqvist with 1:46 remaining in regulation, as the Blues scored with the extra attacker to make it interesting. It also crushed fantasy managers and DFS players, as Petersen was that close to a shutout. He leveled his record at 4-4-1 with a 2.28 goals-against average and .931 save percentage through nine starts and 10 appearances. Petersen and Jonathan Quick are playing well lately, and are essentially in a timeshare situation which is working.
Minnesota Wild DFS Spin
Kaapo Kahkonen allowed two goals on 32 shots in Wednesday’s 6-2 road victory against the Colorado Avalanche. Kahkonen has won four consecutive outings on the road, and he improves to 7-4-0 with a 2.37 goals-against average and .917 save percentage through his 11 appearances this season. He avenged a 5-1 loss on Jan. 30 in St. Paul, allowing five goals on 33 shots in that ugly outing. The Wild are back at it Friday night at home against the Los Angeles Kings. Kahkonen is 1-2-0 with a 2.74 GAA and .905 SV% in his first three starts against the Kings this season.
Kings vs. Wild Prediction
The Kings are 6-0 in their last six games overall, are 12-2 in their last 14 games coming off a win and are 10-4 in their last 14 games when they take on an opponent with a winning record. The Kings are also 5-0 in their last five games after allowing two goals or less in their previous contest and are receiving outstanding goaltending to complement their 1-3-1 defensive zone.
