Jonathan Quick allowed three goals on 33 shots in Thursday’s 4-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers in Game 6. There wasn’t much Quick could do in his crease on a Connor McDavid’s game-opening goal as he just took over and did McDavid things. Evander Kane’s goal was a clean deflection off of a Brett Kulak shot. And finally, Tyson Barrie ripped one past him on a power-play. The fact is the Kings need more offense from their players that have been doing it all season long. It all comes down to Saturday night in the decisive Game 7.

Connor McDavid is a finalist for the Ted Lindsay Award. Unlike the Hart Trophy, which seeks to honor the league’s most valuable player, the Ted Lindsay Award is given to the league’s most outstanding player. There’s often crossover between the two, but there are some subtle differences. The Ted Lindsay Award is also voted on by the NHLPA while the Hart Trophy is voted on by the writers, so winning the Ted Lindsay means earning the respect of your peers. It’s an honor McDavid has claimed three times before, but he’ll have stiff competition this year. McDavid did lead the league with 123 points. However, the other nominees are Auston Matthews, who had 60 goals, and Roman Josi, who led all blueliners with 96 points.
