Golden Knights doubled up by Blues
Las Vegas lost by a count of 4-2 Thursday night at St. Louis to drop to 16-13-5 on the season. After the Golden Knights fell behind 1-0 at the 15:08 mark of the first period, Max Pacioretty evened it up 25 seconds later off assists by Mark Stone and Chandler Stephenson. William Carrier gave Las Vegas a 2-1 advantage later in the first with assists going to Ryan Reaves and Nate Schmidt. The Blues scored three unanswered goals in the second period to take full control. Marc-Andre Fleury surrendered four goals on 29 shots in the losing effort.
Stars win first game after firing Montgomery
Dallas won its first game after the firing of head coach Jim Montgomery by a score of 2-0 at home over New Jersey Tuesday night. Ben Bishop stopped all 26 shots sent his way in the shutout effort. Radek Faksa opened the scoring 1:42 into the contest with assists courtesy of Andrew Cogliano and Blake Comeau. NHL Betting Trends
Las Vegas
The Golden Knights are 4-1 in their last five games on zero days of rest. Las Vegas is 5-2 in its last seven Friday games.
Dallas
The Stars are 6-0 in their last six games versus the Pacific Division. Dallas is 1-4 in the last five meetings.
Prediction:
The Golden Knights have been good lately on no days of rest, but with backup goaltender Malcolm Subban between the pipes and the fact they are struggling overall has me give serious hesitation. Dallas has won three in a row and didn’t skip a beat after the surprising dismissal of Montgomery. I see another win in the cards for the Stars as they try to get back to last season’s level.
