Golden Knights win another close one
Las Vegas is now 5-2 against Los Angeles this season and the last four Golden Knights wins in the season series have all been decided by one goal including two in overtime. Los Angeles will have to grind out a win tonight or else its season will come to an end. On their home ice, the Kings are 23-16-3-0. That is a decent mark, but not much different than their road record of 22-15-5-1. What it comes down to is that Los Angeles must find some goal scorers as it has only produced three total goals in three games this series.
Kopitar comes alive
One bright spot for the Kings in Game 3 was the play of Anze Kopitar as the veteran center racked up a goal and an assist after being held without a point in the first two games. As Los Angeles’ leading scorer with 35 goals and 57 assists during the regular season, Kopitar is the first player to lean on when in need of some instant offense. Even though it didn’t work out last game, if Kopitar can get back on the scoresheet a time or two tonight it will help immensely in the Kings’ chances of staying alive.
NHL Betting Trends
Las Vegas
The over is 3-0-1 in the last four Golden Knights road games. The under is 5-0-2 in the last seven meetings.
Los Angeles
The under is 7-0-1 in the last eight Kings games versus a team with a winning road record. The under is 3-0-1 in the last four LA games versus the Pacific Division.
Prediction:
Even though most of my trends sided with taking the under, I feel as though the Las Vegas offense is good enough to burst out at any moment. As for LA, it is at home and do to score a few goals. I’m instead just siding with the Golden Knights to end the series. Los Angeles has to be deflated in that everything it has tried hasn’t worked. The odds of winning four in a row are too great. Take the Golden Knights to win their first-ever playoff series in their first-ever playoff series.
