Anthony Cirelli will be looking to slow down Nathan MacKinnon during the Stanley Cup Final. “He has the speed and he’s a big guy so he protects the puck really well and he can beat you in all of the ways so I think being aware of when he is on the ice and, as a group, trying to slow him down,” said Cirelli on Friday when he was asked about the matchup. The Lightning forward has received plenty of praise this postseason for his ability to play against the best players on the opposition.

Nazem Kadri (hand) is “getting better,” according to coach Jared Bednar, but there was no update on his status beyond that. Kadri skated before Friday’s practice. He has been using a stick during his on-ice sessions of late for a some puck handling, but he hasn’t been shooting yet. Kadri has been making some progress, though, which bodes well for a possible return at some point during the Stanley Cup Final.
