Andrei Vasilevskiy made 23 saves on 25 shots in Thursday’s 3-2 overtime win over the Columbus Blue Jackets. Vasilevskiy was solid for most of the night in goal for the Lightning. The former Vezina Trophy winner can’t really be blamed for the two goals scored on him as Columbus forced some defensive breakdowns from the Lightning that left Vasilevskiy with no chance at making stops on either of the opportunities. The Lightning netminder still made some quality saves on high-danger scoring chances, most notably a stick save on Zach Werenski on a 2-on-0 late in the game. The 26-year-old is a perfect 3-0-0 on the season with a 1.65 goals-against average and .941 save percentage.
Columbus Blue Jackets DFS Spin
Joonas Korpisalo let in three goals on 37 shots in Thursday’s overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning. Korpisalo probably deserved a better fate on a night where he stood on his head against the high-powered Lightning. Midway through the second period, Korpisalo made a beautiful save on a Brayden Point breakaway and outdid himself in overtime with a wonderful stop on a two-on-one break just 14 seconds into the frame. Ultimately the Point put one past Korpisalo to win the game but Korpisalo shouldn’t have to shoulder any of the blame for the loss. The 26-year-old goaltender now has a 1-1-1 record with a 2.34 goals-against average and a stellar .935 save percentage in three starts this season.
