Girgensons exits with apparent injury

Zemgus Girgensons sustained an apparent injury late in the third period of Sunday’s 4-2 loss to the Panthers, Gabby Shirley of FanDuel Sports Network Florida & Sun reports. The nature and severity of Girgensons’ injury aren’t yet clear, but he had trouble skating to the bench after getting hurt late in the matchup. Prior to his exit, he tallied two hits and a blocked shot in 12:12 of ice time. Whether the 30-year-old will be available for the second half of the back-to-back set Monday against Florida remains to be seen.

Boqvist doesn’t play on Sunday

Jesper Boqvist (upper body) didn’t play Sunday against the Lightning, Jameson Olive of the Panthers’ official site reports. Boqvist will miss a second straight game after suffering an upper-body injury late in Wednesday’s win over Minnesota. With Boqvist and Jonah Gadjovich (upper body) both sidelined, Rasmus Asplund will enter Florida’s bottom six.

Lightning vs. Panthers Betting Prediction

Take Florida. I backed the Panthers yesterday and I’ll do it again tonight when they’re a home favorite. Following their 4-2 victory over the Bolts, the Panthers have won seven out of their last nine games versus the Lightning. They’ve also won four straight games, holding every opponent in that span to two or fewer goals except Edmonton.

Lightning vs. Panthers Prediction: Florida Panthers -155
