Curtis McElhinney stopped 29 of 32 shots in Sunday’s 5-3 win over Florida. McElhinney was superb in the second period when he stopped 11 of the 12 shots he faced. The Lightning only had six shots on target during the second stanza. The team woke up in the third period with three goals, including an empty-netter, to help McElhinney end his three-game winless skid (0-2-1). He has a 3-3-1 record this season.

Anton Khudobin allowed just three goals on 22 shots in Sunday’s 4-3 shootout home loss against the Nashville Predators. Khudobin was staked to a 3-1 lead after 13:02 in the second period, and he had allowed just a power-play goal to Ryan Johansen at that point. However, Filip Forsberg got him at 17:54 of the second to slice the lead to 3-2, and Eeli Tolvanen leveled the game at 3-3 with an even-strength goal at 14:15 of the third. Johansen beat him again in the shootout in the second round, and Calle Jarnkrok settled things with the winner in the fifth round.
