The over has been profitable in previous meetings between the Maple Leafs and Canadiens but with the total sitting at 6 goals tonight in Montreal, is the number too high to cash in Monday night’s matchup?

Auston Matthews picked up three goals with an assist in Saturday’s 6-5 win against the Ottawa Senators. Matthews ended up with a plus-2 rating, five shots on goal and a hit in 17:24 of ice time across 22 shifts while winning nine of his 19 faceoff shifts (47.4 percent). It was his third-career hat trick, and the 38th multi-goal game of his career. He leads the NHL with 31 goals, and it’s the most by a Leafs player since Rick Vaive had 34 goals through the first 38 games during the 1983-84 season. He also has 30 or more goals in each of his first five NHL seasons, and the first U.S.-born player to accomplish that feat.
Montreal Canadiens DFS Spin
Montreal interim coach Dominique Ducharme said Sunday that Carey Price (lower body) is doing better. Ducharme thinks that Price should be back on the ice in the next few days. The Canadiens netminder hasn’t played since April 5 because of a lower-body injury. Jake Allen has started three straight games during Price’s absence.
Maple Leafs vs. Canadiens Prediction
The over is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings between these two teams and is 5-2-1 in the last eight meetings in Montreal. The over is also 4-1 in the Canadiens’ last five games when their opponent allowed five goals or more in its previous game and is 4-1 in their last five games when facing an opponent like the Maple Leafs that have a winning percentage above .600.
