Maple Leafs vs. Oilers Prediction
The Capitals are favored on the road Wednesday night in Chicago, where they’ll take on the Blackhawks at 8:00 p.m. The over has been profitable in previous meetings between these two teams, but is that a safe bet tonight?
Game Snapshot
041 Washington Capitals (-149) at 042 Chicago Blackhawks (+130); o/u 5.5

Washington Capitals DFS Spin
Alex Ovechkin posted an assist in Saturday’s 3-2 shootout win over the Buffalo Sabres. No real fireworks for Ovechkin on Saturday evening, but even so, the veteran star managed to add another point to his season-long tally via an assist on Martin Fehervary’s game-tying goal six minutes into the third period. On the whole this season, Ovechkin has been playing some beautiful hockey, with 20 goals and 44 points accumulated over the course of 28 games.
Chicago Blackhawks DFS Spin
Kevin Lankinen has been struggling as of late. Lankinen has dropped his last two games, allowing a combined eight goals over that span. He has a 2-5-2 record, 3.39 GAA, and .882 save percentage in 10 games in 2021-22. He likely won’t have to wait too long for his next chance to bounce back. Chicago will play on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, so Lankinen will probably start in one of those games.
Capitals vs. Blackhawks Betting Prediction
The over is 6-0-3 in the last nine meetings between these two teams and is 3-0-2 in the last five meetings in Chicago. The over is also 38-14-3 in the Capitals’ last 55 games versus Central Division opponents, is 7-2-1 in their last 10 games overall and is 30-14-8 in their last 52 games playing on three or more days of rest. On the other side, the over is 23-9-2 in the Blackhawks’ last 34 games versus an opponent with a winning percentage above .600.
