Rangers, Leafs both on losing skids

Two teams with losing records will host games tonight in the NHL, one of which is a heavy favorite to knock off its opponent.

Hurricanes at Rangers, 7:00PM ET

Despite losing three straight games, the Rangers are -200 money line favorites to beat the Hurricanes according to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI. During its three-game losing skid, New York has been out-scored a combined 12-4. In their latest defeat, the Rangers were shutout 3-0 by the Flyers in New York on Saturday. They’ll have a prime opportunity to get back on track tonight though, as the Hurricanes are just 2-7 in their last nine games overall and winless at 0-5 in their last five games versus Eastern Conference foes.

Oilers at Maple Leafs, 7:30PM ET

The Maple Leafs have also lost three in a row, including suffering back-to-back defeats at home. In all three games that they lost, the Leafs were underdogs by +120 or more. In two of those three games, the combined score also went over the total. A few online sports books have Toronto as a slight -115 money line favorite to win over Edmonton tonight. The Oilers are just 1-4 in their last five games in Toronto and 1-6 in their last seven games versus the Leafs overall.
